Appliance permits
Clark County requires a permit before anyone constructs, alters, repairs or replaces a building, or installs, alters, repairs or replaces any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system regulated by code. Exemptions are in Clark County Building Administrative Code 22.02.190. (source: Clark County Department of Building and Fire Prevention)
Clark County's minimum code requirement for a dryer exhaust vent is 14 feet with no more than two 90 degree elbows; each extra elbow takes 2 feet off the maximum. It must end in a non-screened eyebrow termination with a backdraft damper. A dryer model that allows a longer run must be in place at final with its installation instructions on site. Nevada rules that apply here
Nevada's contractor law does not apply to the construction, alteration, improvement or repair of personal property (NRS 624.031, subsection 8), or to selling or installing a finished product that does not become a permanent fixed part of the structure (subsection 7). Work on the gas, water, electrical or refrigerant systems a built-in appliance connects to can be contractor work; if you are unsure, call the State Contractors Board at (702) 486-1100.
